~ Attention Boaters! Free VESSEL SAFETY CHECK, tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to noon!  Stop in for your  Vessel Safety Check at the Manchaug Pond boat ramp. Come by land or lake – with any size vessel, motorized, paddled, pedaled or sail – our certified examiner will help you get your boat safe and legal for the season. Pass and you can display your hull decal for all to see on the water. For more information visit our website event page.

~ Yes, you heard it right- COFFEE WITH COWS!! A representative from Manchaug Pond Foundation will be on the Sutton Town Common on Sunday, June 4 from 10:30 a.m.- to 1:00 p.m. at the invitation of Sutton 4-H Club to talk with you about our water quality efforts in the Manchaug Pond watershed and how you can protect our water resources at home, at the campsite, and on the farm.  Our exhibit will highlight the roadside and boat ramp work of our third EPA/Mass DEP s. 319 Non-Point Source Pollution grant in Sutton and Douglas as well as our interactive watershed model helping you understand just what a watershed is and how daily activity around the landscape can threaten the quality of our streams and lakes.  Special information and outreach is available to horseowners, hobby farmers and other animal lovers. 4-H will be collecting items for the Sutton Food Pantry. Although food registration for the event has ended4-H and the Sutton Lions Club will have additional breakfast sandwiches and muffins available for unregistered guests. It will be served on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
~ Saturday, June 17 from 9:30 to Noon, stop in for our annual SOCIAL AND VOLUNTEER OPEN HOUSE! Over coffee and pastry, open the summer season with lake neighbors and friends talking old times, new opportunities, and special efforts here on Manchaug Pond.

  • View the informational display with our 319 Grant Coordinator on the EPA/MassDEP funds secured to help improve water quality around the lake and in the watershed;
  • Check out our water monitoring/sampling equipment and plan a time to observe or volunteer… on-lake and at the streams, we’re looking at such things as invasive species, clarity and turbidity, nutrients of nitrates and organophosphates, dissolved oxygen, total phosphorous, bacteria, algae and more!
  • Make a purchase of MPF Gear, Lake Art and more
  • 50/50 Raffle!
  • Boat Safety info including If Found and paddle reflectors for you canoe and kayak
  • Bring the family as special activities are planned for kids of all ages including crafts, games and Facepainting by Christine Z  from 10-11 a.m.
