The Blackstone River Coalition water quality team will be out in the Manchaug Pond watershed this season with one of our Board members serving as a key Manchaug watershed volunteer!
The Blackstone River Coalition watershed-wide monitoring program tests monthly in two locations in the Manchaug Pond watershed and a third just downstream after the Manchaug Pond dam before Stevens Pond. Manchaug Pond is a head waters of the Mumford River which is a tributary of the Blackstone River.
Volunteers go out the 2nd Saturday morning of the month from April through November sampling/monitoring streams for aesthetics which include turbidity, water appearance, presence of trash and nuisance aquatic vegetation as well as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, and nutrients of phosphates and nitrates.
