Annual Meeting of the Members Saturday!

Posted August 8, 2018 Calling all members…  it is time for the ANNUAL Business MEETING of the Manchaug Pond Foundation – 9th for the Foundation and 51st for the MPA!  This year the date is a couple weeks early due to the availability of the facility so plan to join in Saturday morning, August 11th at the Dining Hall of the YMCA Camp Blanchard, Manchaug Road in Sutton on the shores of Manchaug Pond.     Pay your dues online today or at the door to attend!  9:00 AM the coffee will be on with a delicious homemade breakfast buffet to follow at 9:30. Business meeting agenda to include: Approval of the minutes Treasurer’s financial report for 2017 and 2018 to date Election of the Board of Directors by the members Setting the budget for 2019 Presentation of awards for the 2018 Boat Decorating Contest Old and new business from the membership. Guest speaker: Following the business meeting, presentations will be made by William Langlois and Edward Biehn on invasives, permitting, and the new initiatives including diver-assisted suction harvesting (DASH). Update Posted July 1, 2018 Hey, hey, hey!  There is still time to enter the Manchaug Pond Foundation’s  BOAT DECORATING CONTEST which has been postponed to Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.  Current entrants are thrilled to have the extra time allowing them to up the competition by enhancing their entry!  So register your entry today!   Posted June 30th, 2018 Are you ready for Independence Day, the U.S.A.’s birthday celebration? Promoting a safe and patriotic holiday on Manchaug Pond, the Manchaug Pond Foundation looks to kick off the festivities: Annual BOAT DECORATING CONTEST & PARADE! We’re looking for entries so get out your red, white and blue or go big with a theme on Sunday, July 1st at 1:00 p.m. with the Annual Boat Decorating Contest! Register your entry by contacting us, providing the Captain’s name, telephone #, boat make & model, and decorating theme by 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your entry number which must be prominently displayed on both sides of your vessel, visible to the judges. A Request for Flag Etiquette… How do I hang the flag on my house?

Whether you display the flag of our country year-round or just in celebration on special days such as Memorial Day (last Monday in May ), Flag Day (June 14th), Independence Day (July 4th), Veterans Day (November 11th), we want to get it right! Here are a few highlights: Display of the American flag Behind a Speaker? Display horizontally behind and above the speaker’s head. Flat against a wall? Display horizontally or vertically with Canton at flags own right. (or to viewers left) In a window? Display vertically with Canton at flags own right. (or to outside viewers left) Displaying an American flag outside my House On a Pole attached to the wall?  Hang Flag at the top of a pole either horizontally or diagonally from the wall with any other flags below it on the same staff or another staff. On a horizontal rope from a building?  Hang flag vertical with the Canton farthest from the building.   Displaying an American flag on a Flagpole More than one flag on a pole?
