Hello everyone! June is here bringing in the summer season to Manchaug Pond! A reminder of our events and fundraisers offered this month by the Manchaug Pond Foundation is below. Be sure to visit www.ManchaugPond.org for a full calendar listing and details.
First up, and this morning, is our Vessel Safety Check, June 4, 2022, promoting safe boating at the state boat ramp on Torrey Rd, Sutton from 9 AM to Noon. Both new and seasoned boaters find this annual event of value to get all safe and legal on Manchaug Pond. There is no enforcement component and no police onsite, only educational, informative, one-on-one assistance from a certified examiner. This event is free, open to the public, and all vessels from motor boats to jetskis to paddle boards can participate. Safe boating information, Vessel Safety Check decal, If Found stickers, and paddle reflectors are available for free.
Also we have a few gently-used life jackets a member is offering for the taking. If interested, stop in at the ramp.
For the month of June, Manchaug Pond Foundation has been chosen for the Hannaford’s Bloomin’ 4 Good Program! All month, Hannaford’s Supermarkets will donate $1.00 for every bouquet purchased at their Uxbridge store directly benefiting our organization. So spread the word, stop in to bring home a bouquet or gift to a friend or neighbor, and know you are supporting our work for Manchaug Pond!
A Coffee Social, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Y Camp Blanchard dining hall on Manchaug Rd, Sutton starting at 9:30 AM will be held. Drop in to renew friendships over coffee and pastry, pay your dues, volunteer for a new initiative, ask your questions and give your suggestions to the Board of Directors, and purchase your MPF Gear and flares for the July 4th festivities. Refreshments, good company and conversation, and Manchaug Pond will make for a great morning!
There are still tomato plants available from this May’s Tomato Plant Sale – Mortgage Lifter, Yellow Pear, and Bonnie Best varieties. Your $5. purchase/donation will be used for our Stream Team field and lab water quality initiative. The plants are ready for a deep planting in your garden or container to take off to produce fruit like the pictured Mortgage Lifter tomato weighing in at a big 20 oz. and grown last year by one of our supporters! Order online at www.ManchaugPond.org with local delivery or pick up!
