Columbus Day ~ WINTER LAKE-LEVEL DRAWDOWN: We’ve enjoyed an over-the-flashboards FULL waterlevel – thanks to periodic rain and the great regulation of the dam by the Town of Sutton – contributing to healthy fisheries, coves and wetlands and tremendous recreational opportunities but with October comes the start of the annual winter drawdown.
Officially commencing Columbus Day weekend, it is time to make adjustments/arrangements for docks and boats along the shoreline to accommodate the upcoming reduction in the water level. Public access through the state boat ramp continues to be available with the draw-down but boaters should be aware of Manchaug Pond’s shallow and rocky characteristics. Visit our Water-level/Dam website page for updates, FAQs, and more information!
