Divers Needed
Join the crew! Become a diver as part of our Diver Assisted Suction Harvesting Program.
- July and August - You decide your commitment - once a week, every other, or once a month!
- For 2026, looking to form 3 teams: Captain, diver, deck hand, and 1-2 kayakers

Water Quality Monitoring:3>

Stream Team Monitor
- Opening in Manchaug Pond watershed to monitor stream health
- April-November, second Saturday morning
- Outdoor stream-side sample collection, and monitoring
- Training and supplies provided
Cyanobacteria Monitor
A monitor, an alternate monitor, and a driver are needed.
- May-October, generally first Monday and/or third Saturday morning. Take one day or both
- Saturday monitoring offers opportunity for microscopic identification.
- Samples driven to Worcester
- Training and equipment provided
Bacteria/eColi Monitor
- Twice monthly, June-September, Second Saturday morning
- Collect sample at designated lake shoreline/source stream
- Training and equipment provided
Events
Clean-up Volunteers
Join our annual spring and fall lake and watershed clean-ups.- Individuals, family, and groups welcome
- Your time or on event day a Saturday in April & in October, 9:00 a.m.-Noon
- Meet at the Public Access Boat Ramp, Torrey Rd, Sutton for safety vest, bags, gloves, and refreshments.
Vessel Safety Check ~ Hold a Boat!
- 2-3 volunteers needed
- First Saturday in June, 9-Noon~ work the morning or take a shift
- Hold boats at the ramp during the Vessel Safety Check
- State Public Boat Ramp, Torrey Rd, Sutton
June Social & The Annual Meeting ~ Let's Eat!
- 2-3 volunteers needed
- Prepare or bring a dish: muffins, fruit salad, breakfast bread, or your own specialty!
- Y Camp Blanchard Dining Hall, Manchaug Rd, Sutton
The DAM Race 5K Run, 3K Walk
- Volunteers needed for this great community event!
- Race director, road marshalls, registration table, water station, finish line, publicity and more

Education Outreach at the Ramp & the Overlook
Kiosks: Ramp & Overlook
- Stock one or both kiosk publication racks.
- Post seasonal information on the kiosk bulletin board.
- Brochures and signage provided.
Garden Caretaker
- Care for the perennial flowers of our pollinator garden located at the scenic overlook at 54 Wates Rd, Sutton
- Planted by Sutton 4-H Preservationiists Club, plants include bee balm, coneflower, black-eyed Susan and more.
- Great youth or community service project for your group ~ BEE HAPPY!
Fishing Line Collection Station
- Empty the collection tube at the public boat ramp.
- The discarded fishing line/monofilament can be brought for recycling to Blackstone Heritage Corridor office in Whitinsville.
- Great youth or community service project for your group ~ help protect our wildlife!

Hi!
We would like to volunteer to build the wood duck nesting boxes.
We are also interested in the Kestrel Nesting Project, but would definitely need some guidance.
Also, can help with Blueberry Island flag/buoy maintenance.
