Give back to Manchaug Pond by joining the Manchaug Pond Foundation this Saturday, October 25th from 9 a.m. to noon for the annual fall clean-up event!
Over coffee, cider, fruit and doughnuts, all are invited to meet at the state boat ramp on Torrey Road in Sutton to get the morning started. We will hit the pavement with garbage bags in hand to clean the roadsides, break the waves with small boats to clean the shoreline, and with shovels and barrels to tackle a few invasives all in a Manchaug Pond watershed-wide clean up event. Garbage bags, rubber gloves and the dump truck will be provided.
Also, educational information on residential Low Impact Development techniques such as landscaping with buffer zones and rain gardens to limit runoff of fertilizer nutrients and pet and livestock wastes will be offered to participants as made possible by a Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Non-point Source Pollution Grant.
Special thanks to the Town of Sutton Highway Department for their cooperation in the event. Rain date is Sunday the 26th.
