Manchaug Pond Foundation Water Quality

New Clean Water Toolkit Launched

Manchaug Pond Founation Water Quality

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) offers a Massachusetts Clean Water Tool Kit website, which serves as the state’s primary public education resource related to non-point source pollution.

The Toolkit, developed for MassDEP by Geosyntec Consultants, includes sections focused on the major categories of non-point source pollution, 127 fact sheets on best management practices to reduce pollution, and a collection of “Interactive Scenarios” based on Massachusetts landscapes.

The Interactive Scenarios allow users to explore ways to reduce pollution and improve water quality in a variety of highly detailed landscapes that are typical in Massachusetts, including residential, agricultural, urban, roads, construction, and shoreline restoration.

Visit Manchaug Pond Foundation’s education website page for links to games, fact sheets, and resources for students, teachers, homeowners, farmers, horseowners and lake visitors as to how you can protect water quality where you live, work and play and to link to the Clean Water Toolkit.  For more information on the Clean Water Toolkit, contact Malcolm Harper, Mass DEP at Malcolm.Harper@state.ma.us.
