Let’s RUN for Manchaug Pond! Run, Walk, Cheer’em on!

Attention all runners, walkers and strollers! Lace up your sneakers and join The DAM Race 5K Run and 3K Health Walk on Saturday, October 18, 2025. This annual event is being held by the Manchaug Pond Foundation to benefit our work for the 380 acre lake, Manchaug Pond, and its watershed. So gather your family and friends to enjoy scenic views of peak foliage season along the beautiful lake shores while benefiting a great cause.
All are welcome! Entry fee is $30. Pre-registation is open online and by mail or register on race day just over the dam at 19 Holt Road, Sutton. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with a 9:30 a.m. race start for both the 5K run & 3K health walk. Rain or shine. There is a turn-around location mid-race at Lackey Road for runners and in front of the YMCA Camp Blanchard facility for walkers with a water station and restroom facilities nearby. Manchaug Pond Foundation volunteer road marshals will be along the course assisting with traffic to ensure your safety, and to cheer you on!
Great views of the lake and fall foliage, runners’ raffles, snacks, race day t-shirt (purple is this year’s color!) and Manchaug Pond gear! Pre-registration before October 1st guarantees a race t-shirt. New this year for sponsors is a free race registration – a $30 value. There is ample parking for contestants and spectators. Medals will be awarded to runners in 1st, 2nd, 3rd in both Men’s and Women’s categories. Post race refreshments will be provided free to participants. The finish line as well as awards will be held at 19 Holt Road at the start/finish.
Manchaug Pond is a beautiful 380 acre community natural resource located in Sutton and Douglas. All event proceeds and donations benefit the lake through the work of the Manchaug Pond Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit grassroots public charity dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of this Great Pond of the Commonwealth through initiatives and programs addressing water quality, safe boating, waterlevel/dam, invasive species, watershed conservation and rare species protection.
THE DAM RACE is a 5K (3.1 mile) course for runners that takes participants for a scenic trek along Manchaug Pond. Walkers will enjoy a healthy 3K (1.9 mile) route. The start and finish line offers parking for contestants and spectators. There will be a turn-around location mid-race. Volunteers will control traffic and ensure safety. Prizes and refreshments post-race!
